Who We Are
"We Will Strictly Enforce a Critical Understanding" |
Everything is going to be okay. Everything is going to be great. Cal Poly’s Orientation Team, administration, faculty, and staff all know how to foster what is about to be your spectacular first year. Until they don’t.
The 'Dis'orientation Team seeks to help all students find a safe, respectful, and reliable place they can find comfort in at Cal Poly. Our campus climate can be extremely hostile towards marginalized groups, and we firmly believe in elevating our voices in campus decision making in order to bring about equity and justice. We know most of you chose Cal Poly because you loved it. We also know that you may not think anything is wrong with the school. We aim to change that. We want everyone on campus to have access to as much information as possible, and as such, we have compiled an extensive guide filled with amazing informational content, written & drawn by a team of passionate students to help you understand the campus in a deeper way. We also want to emphasize that this publication will strictly enforce a critical understanding of the ways in which race, gender, sexuality, ability, documentation status, and other identities function and interlock with systems of oppression--and then affect our lives as students on this campus. Decolonize your mind, and enjoy. -The Disorientation Team |
